2008-2009 Make Dreams Real

Health and Hunger are a primary focus of our local Clubs as well as RI.    As we enter into the year of “Making Dreams Real”, let’s plan to carve out time and energy to focus on this important aspect of Rotary.

Under the leadership of DG Brad Jett, I hope to coordinate District activities and information to work efficiently and to leverage our common resources.   In this way, we can do even more than we dream.   Let’s face it, the District already knows how to collectively step to the plate.   We demonstrated this through the food drive associated with last year’s World Peace and Understanding Dinner.    Past President Wilf Wilkerson was amazed and commended the District for the outstanding pouring of support for the S. Portland Food Cupboard.

So, let do it again.    There are dreams to be made reality both locally and internationally.

District Clubs are already working at the international level on water projects, programs like Sustainable Harvest in Latin America, food programs overseas, hospital and medical equipment, Polio Plus, Polio Partners, Rotaplast, and many other activities.

Locally, our Clubs work in soup kitchens, feed the elderly, run food drives, support sports teams and events, and in general promote better mental health, by providing all sorts of support to make life better, and “Make Dreams Real”.

Please let District 7780 Staff know how we can help.   DG Brad, your ADG and I will work hard to support your efforts, and share the goodwill and friendships that will be yours to enjoy.
